#TeachableTuesday -- Smacking into a rock that turns the wheel the wrong way -- 😮 👉 This is an example of what can happen when you don't get your front wheel cleanly up an obstacle. When you're going up technical terrain, it can be tiring or difficult to do a bunch of wheel lifts, so the solution is to unweight the front wheel, ride right into the obstacle and absorb the impact with your arms. Some obstacles are small enough we can do this, but some are too big and the only option over is to do a wheel lift. 🔥 The problem with bashing into stuff, even if you unweight the front end, is that it drastically kills momentum and knocks the front wheel around. It can also cause silly facial expressions. 🤪😂🤦‍♀️ 🌟 When the wheel does turn like it did to me here, I might have been able to save it had I shifted forward quickly enough to turn it back to where I wanted it to go. Sometimes it's just not that easy to get it back under your control and you end up heading in the wrong direction. If you do end up heading in the wrong direction it's important to try and look back to where you wanted to go and try and regain control of the front wheel. 👀Do NOT look where you don't want to go! If you can't make that happen, then stopping and trying again is a great option. 🤗 #ladiesallride #ridebikesbehappy #mtbskills #LivCOMMITTED --------- Our website: https://www.ladiesallride.com/ We've been teaching Mountain Bike Skills and relating Mountain Biking to life since 2010 ~ It's a life-changing sport, so Ladies should ALL RIDE BIKES! ~ Our mission is to grow the community of female mountain bikers across the globe!
