Hellooooooo and welcome to The Kirsty Meakin Show, Sometimes natural nails can go on a wonk and they don’t look great but your client has put all that effort into growing their nails and they want to keep that process so here’s how you fix a wonky nail. I’m going to start by examining the nail and seeing where I need to remove and where I need to add. I’m then going to file straight out from the side wall, following the finger to remove the extra nail, filling under the nail rather than filing the actual side of the nail, this is going to straighten out that side. For the side that’s missing a bit, it’s a little more work. I’m going to apply a form underneath the nail to support the new product and then I’m going to use the A&A system in Tan to build out that bit that’s missing. This is a great way to start sculpting if you’re not confident because you aren’t doing the full nail, just part of it. It’s fine to go a little over the edges but you want to make sure you don’t have any stress points and you’ve got a nice apex. Do multiple beads if you need to and examine the nail before letting it set completely to make sure everything is secure. I’m going to pinch this nail to get a nice c-curve and then go in and file the nail like I would a sculpted nail. Once the nail is reshaped, I’m going to take a pointy bit on my e-file and clean up underneath the nail because foundation and all sorts of nasty bits will get trapped on the excess product under the nail if I don’t. I’m going to finish off by buffing the nail and applying cuticle oil because I’m doing the design in a separate video.
