✔ Listen to What You Enjoy: If you enjoy what you listen to, you will have more motivation to continue listening, and be more resistant to stopping, or losing focus. ✔ Adjust Material Level: To avoid frustration and getting confused but also challenge yourself, select any audio source that you can already understand at least 60%-80% of. ✔ Take Notes While Listening: To get the maximal value from your listening activities, you need to turn passive listening into active listening, which will greatly increase your comprehension and retention rates. One of the best ways to do this is through taking notes while listening. Write down the topic of the audio, any main points or try writing a summary midway and then again at the end. If you hear a word you do not understand, write it down so you can look it up later. ✔ Don’t Forget to Read: Maintain your reading activities, whether it is material for which you have the audio or not.
