Corn Syrup, Glucose Syrup and Golden Syrup: Know the difference and their Usage

Today we are sharing information on Corn Syrup, Glucose Syrup and Golden Syrup. All are sweeteners, more dominant in commercial baking, cooking and preparing of various desserts. These alternative sugars are used to enhance certain characteristics of prepared food products. Due to various YouTube cooking channels and popular programmes on television, these advanced food products are available in retail outlet for domestic purpose.
Corn Syrup is very popular food syrup and widely used in USA. It is made from the starch of corn. Corn Syrup provides volume and soft texture to the food products.
Glucose Syrup is also known as confectioner’s glucose. It is made from starch part of potatoes and wheat. It is also sugar substitute for commercial grade cooking, baking and preparing various dairy-based desserts such as ice-creams and frozen yogurts.
Golden Syrup is versatile food syrup. It is obtained from the refining process of sugarcane or beet while making sugar. Golden syrup is inverted sugar syrup and has a consistency like honey. Many vegans used it as a honey substitute. It is ideal for baking and cooking of various desserts and sweet products for enhancing taste and adding fine texture to end products. If you interested in making dark chocolate with raw materials such as cocoa powder and cocoa butter and taste of powdered sugar or honey doesn’t get with you taste or not up to the mark; use the golden syrup as the sweetener.
