Finishing up a 15th century outfit requires headwear and the open hood with it's lovely flappy wings is a staple in period imagery. In this video I'll be recreating one of these hoods as well as diving into my love of medieval headdresses (which will certainly come up later). Just a bit of a warning this is not entirely historically accurate as I did use a sewing machine and inaccurate materials however I always do the seam finishing by hand. Hoods are a fun project that can help on your costuming journey, they're easy to make, don't use a lot of fabric and if you're like me they cover your non-historical hair :)
