Meet Zeel: Solving Veterans' Pain Through Massage Therapy

Samer Hamadeh, CEO & Co-founder of Zeel, is on a mission to solve pain for 100 million Americans without opioids or surgery. Medical message reduces or eliminates pain medication usage, improves mobility and sleep, and is cost effective. Zeel – which joined StartUp Health in 2012 as the original massage-on-demand startup – uses tech to match massage therapists with clients. Zeel’s new Massage for Veterans Program is approved by the US Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) in order to connect massage therapists with the millions of military veterans who have been living with pain since leaving the service. Zeel’s protocol generates 90% compliance for veterans; as a comparison, veterans’ compliance rate with physical therapy appointments is under 40%.
