A cultural terrain enriched by the passage of different cultures and beliefs. A leading architectural heritage made up of cathedrals, churches and monasteries to which should be added millennial traditions, popular festivals, gastronomy, music or leading art collections, and even religious film festivals . A lively Barcelona that welcomes new spiritualities without renouncing its past. Ciutat Vella is the historic heart of Barcelona and occupies a small territory of approximately 500 hectares. To discover Ciutat Vella is to discover the origins of Barcelona, a capital which until the middle of the 19th century lived enclosed within its medieval walls, the layout of which roughly followed the Avenida del Paral·lel, the Ronda de Sant Pau, Ronda de Sant Antoni, Carrer de Pelai, Promenade de Lluís Companys and Parc de la Ciutadella. Antoni Gaudí i Cornet born June 25, 1852 in Reus or Riudoms1 and died June 10, 1926 in Barcelona, is a Catalan architect of Spanish nationality and main representative of Catalan modernism. His work left a lasting mark on the architecture of the city of Barcelona and constitutes an “exceptional creative contribution to the development of architecture and construction techniques. As such, under the name of "Works of Gaudí", seven of his works have been listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites: Park Güell, Palace Güell, Casa Milà, Casa Vicens, the Nativity facade and the crypt of the Sagrada Família, the Casa Batlló and the crypt of Colonia Güell. La Sagrada Família is a basilica in Barcelona whose construction began in 1882. It is one of the best-known examples of Catalan modernism and an emblematic monument of the city. Unfinished work of the architect Antoni Gaudí, the Sagrada Família is located in the district of the same name (district of Eixample). The architect has designed a meticulous symbology that makes this building a mystical poem. He also showed great audacity in formal construction, such as the way of designing the catenary arch structurenote 2 or the combination of the naturalistic sculptural treatments and the abstraction of the towers. According to data from 2004, the Sagrada Família is the most visited monument in Spain, surpassing the Alhambra in Granada and the Prado Museum in Madrid2: in 2012, it attracted more than 3.2 million visitors3 . The part of the monument created during Antoni Gaudí's lifetime, the crypt and the facade of the Nativity, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2005. The Cathedral Metropolitan Basilica of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia of Barcelona, often nicknamed Seu in Catalan, is the cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Barcelona. The current cathedral, in the Gothic style, was built between the 13th and 15th centuries on the old Romanesque cathedral1, itself built on a church dating from the Visigoth period in the same place as an earlier Paleo-Christian basilica, some remains of which are still visible in the basement, at the Barcelona History Museum.
