lemon rice recipe | chitranna recipe | nimbehannu chitranna is prepared by mixing freshly cooked or leftover rice with seasoning which includes includes, mustard, peanuts, Urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves and more importantly lemon juice.
Ingredients:
Boiled Rice 1 Cup
Groundnuts - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp.
Chana dal 1/2 tsp.
Black gram 1/2 tsp.
Cashew nuts 1 tbsp
Red Chili 2 Number
Curry leaves few
Hing 1 pinch
Green Chili 2
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp.
Salt to taste
Lime juice 1tbsp
Directions -- Method:
1. Heat the oil in a pan add Groundnuts, chana dal, black gram, mustard seeds, cashew nuts, Red Chili and hing. sauté it till the dals turn golden.
2. Add chopped green chilli. Then add curry leaves and turmeric powder. Add cooked rice, salt and lemon juice to the tempering and mix well.
